Privacy policy
Last updated 11 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data Finlay Mulligan & Co. collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It is written to meet our obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Finlay Mulligan & Co. Chartered Accountants is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our office is at Marina House, Clarence Street, Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. You can reach us by email at info@finlaymulligan.ie or by telephone on +353 1 663 8700.
What we collect through this website
The only personal data this website collects directly is what you type into the contact form. That is:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your telephone number
- Your business type and the service you are enquiring about
- Anything you choose to write in the message field
Please do not include sensitive personal or financial details in the message field. If we need that information, we will ask for it through a secure channel once you are a client.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use the information you submit to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to prepare a fee proposal. Our lawful basis is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and, where you are already a client, that it is necessary for the performance of that contract.
We do not use website enquiry data for marketing, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Who else sees it
Contact form submissions are delivered to us by email through Resend, an email delivery provider acting as our processor. The website itself is hosted by Vercel. Both hold your data only to the extent needed to deliver the message and serve the page, and both are bound by data processing terms.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become engagements are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. Where you become a client, your records are kept for the period required by Irish tax and company law and by the standards of Chartered Accountants Ireland, which is generally six years from the end of the engagement.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not run third-party analytics that profile you. If that changes, we will ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any non-essential cookie is set, and we will update this policy first.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Ask us to erase data, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it
- Ask us to restrict how we use it
- Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests
- Receive data you gave us in a portable format
To exercise any of these, email info@finlaymulligan.ie. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever our processing changes, and the date at the top will change with it.
Contact us if anything here is unclear.
