Updated: May 28

From the 1st of January 2025, the yearly average method of calculating the state pension will be gradually phased out over a ten-year period.

This means that you may not have the annual average weekly reckonable PRSI contributions to be eligible for the full state pension.

Check your PRSI record by registering at https://services.mywelfare.ie/, to see what your likely state pension will be at age 66.

If it looks like you fall short of the required annual average weekly reckonable PRSI contributions, there are several ways highlighted in this article that allow you to boost your PRSI record: https://brokersireland.ie/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/42-43.pdf
